Villa Duchense Maypole Dance 2023

Meet Maggie! Class of 2023 Villa Duchense!

Maggie attends Villa Duchense, a private all girls school in St. Louis. The main building has two turrets and is known as the castle. After the graduation ceremony the graduating class returns the next day for Maypole, which is held in the bowl, a grassy area behind the castle. Each girl wears a long white gown, which must be approved to keep a cohesive look for the dance.

Maggie's gown, with its full multi-layered skirt was perfect for dancing and twirling and looked absolutely beautiful on her!

Each girl wears a colored monogramed ribbon in: green, yellow, pink or blue. Their families color coordinate their wardrobes with their seniors colored ribbon. The reserved seating provides a kaleidoscope of colors adding to the colorful ribbons adorning the maypole.

Maggie's sister Anna, also attends Villa Duchense and both their mom and grandmother attended the school.

The art of the courtesy was integral to the Maypole dance.

Maggie will be attending Miami University in Ohio.
